HOW WE MET

As children of the digital age, William & Jessica met online. Jessica found out about a Christian website from a friend and William quickly noticed her, informing her in an e-mail that she sounded “interesting.” After three days of online chatting, they decided to meet; the fateful place: the Gypsy Den. Two hours and two drinks later, they said their goodbyes, but not before William gave her a Caedmon’s Call CD and she gave him her number.

The following day, Jessica conveniently wanted coffee from Starbucks, and meandered her way to the one where William was working. She spent more than four hours there, primarily being grilled, interviewed and screened by William’s best friend (and best man), Kenny. Needless to say, Jessica passed the screening with flying colors and they have been inseparable ever since.

William will tell you that he knew the first day at the Gypsy Den that he “was done looking.” If Jess would have him, then he would marry her. Jess, however, needed about a week to come to a similar conclusion. This relationship was different- a holy different.

Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.

~Genesis 2.24 (ESV)

Most foundationally, marriage is the doing of God. Most ultimately, marriage is the display of God.

~John Piper

To love is to be vulnerable.
